Romance in the Pearl of Africa: 10-Day Honeymoon Special Vacation in Uganda

Our 10 Days Honeymoon Special Vacation in Uganda was designed to give our guests the most intimate possible encounter with the African jungle. The trip’s first leg takes you to Jinja, the location of the great Nile River’s source, and the second leg flies you to western Uganda, home to two of Africa’s primate capitals and some of the oldest and richest rainforest in the world.

On a chimpanzee habituation trip, you will be challenged to spend the entire day following and observing our human relatives as they go about their everyday routines in their natural environment, accompanied by rangers, guides, researchers, and medics. Day 9: You Can Choose To Have Your Second Optional Gorilla Trek And The Buniga Forests Or The Batwa Encounter Experience.
Why then, you wonder, a second gorilla tour experience? It is, after all, your honeymoon special holiday. In general, we want you to always remember your time spent in the African forest. You get to leave the camera behind, pack up your nervousness, and lock it away in the lodge’s closed back during your second gorilla tracking adventure. You could catch something you didn’t the first time, and you will get to have yourself a gorilla encounter.

A second jungle area, Rushaga, located some 23 kilometers from Nkuringo, will be visited for the second gorilla tour experience.
You will drive 23 kilometers from Nkuringo to Rushaga at 06.45 in order to meet your gorilla tracking guide and receive an activity briefing. The drive to Rushaga at sunrise is especially beautiful since the volcanoes stand watch on the Southern horizon like sentinels. The sun rising in front of you breaks against the primary forest as you move past the Rushaga village. It is necessary to pause for a picture.

You will likely need to travel a few kilometers from the Rushaga visitors’ center to the trailhead, where you will start your gorilla tracking activities. Because every day in the forest is distinct from the one before it, your time there cannot be planned.

Transfer to the Buniga Forest Trail Walk, an educational initiative organized by USAID and the neighborhood Batwa people. When Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park was made a gorilla-only UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991, the Batwa tribe was compelled to leave their home there. They had been living as roving hunter-gatherers in the forest for eons, in harmony with the local flora and animals. A major obstacle has been the transition to new towns with a drastically different way of life. They now make a living by telling stories about their former existence in the forest and their rich history while trying to survive as best they can.
