Day by Day Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up at airport and transfer to Nyungwe forest 

You will be picked from your location in Kigali by our tour guide and transferred to Nyungwe Forest National Park. On your way you will have a stopover at Butare for a visit to the national museum of Rwanda, the king’s royal palace in Nyanza and have lunch along the way. When you reach the park, you will have dinner at your hotel and rest.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

Early in the morning you will have your breakfast and go for a briefing before entering the forest. Once in the forest, you will hear the chimpanzees communicating with each but be careful NOT to imitate their sounds as you don’t know what those sounds mean. You will be entitled 1 hour once the chimpanzees are found, after which you will head for lunch at your hotel.
In the afternoon you will then go for a canopy walk through Nyungwe forest where you will enjoy the wonderful scenery across the 70-meter suspended metal bridge. After the canopy walk you will head back to your hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Colobus monkey trekking and nature walk

After your breakfast early in the morning you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your golden monkey search in Nyungwe forest. It might take from 2 to 5 hours to spot them but once you find the monkeys you are free to spend an hour observing them and taking photos and/or videos.
After this you will head back to your hotel for lunch an prepare for your optional nature walk of the trails of Nyungwe forest in the afternoon. Here you will have the opportunity to see breathtaking scenery, more primates and some birds then you will go back to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Bird watching and return to Kigali

On day 4, you will have your breakfast at your hotel then go for a briefing before staring your bird watching experience in Nyungwe forest. Your tour guide will lead you through the forest trails where you will have the opportunity to see different species of birds and butterflies.
You will return to your hotel for lunch and in the afternoon set off back to Kigali city where you will have dinner at your hotel and rest.

Day 5: Kigali city tour and departure

Kigalli City tour begins at 8 am with a briefing at your hotel. You will start your day by visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, a poignant reminder of the 1994 genocide. Explore the exhibits, memorial gardens, and learn about Rwanda’s history. This powerful experience provides insight into the country’s resilience and determination for reconciliation. You will then visit the Rwanda Natural History Museum then head to Caplaki Craft Village for a taste of Rwanda’s vibrant arts and crafts scene. Browse through a variety of stalls offering traditional crafts, paintings, and handmade jewelry. Engage with local artisans and perhaps pick up a unique souvenir.
After this you will have your lunch and relaxation then later you will be dropped off at the airport or your preferred location. End of tour.

The trip will start from Kigali International Airport to Nyungwe National Park and you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport.
